TracklistID identifies the record playing at a given moment of a DJ mix, and keeps what listeners decide. Using it means accepting the following.

The audio is not ours, and we do not keep it

A mix plays through the platform's own player — YouTube's or SoundCloud's embed — and never from us. To identify a passage we fetch a short segment, fingerprint it, and delete it as soon as the analysis ends. No recording is stored, served or offered for download. TracklistID is not affiliated with YouTube, SoundCloud, Apple or Shazam.

What you contribute is public, and carries your name

Asking about a passage is anonymous. Deciding is not: a vote or a proposed record is shown with your display name and avatar, because a verdict without an author is one nobody can weigh. You can withdraw a vote at any time; the answer is then recomputed from what is left.

Identifications are opinions, not certainties

No fingerprinting engine returns a certainty on a mix, which is why nothing here is settled by a machine: an answer becomes the site's when two people agree on it, and it can move again. Treat a resolved ID as what several listeners concluded, not as a fact.

Fair use of the analysis

Reading the index is free and unmetered. Running an analysis costs a download and dozens of engine calls, so it is limited per account and per day. Automated or bulk use is not allowed — it is what gets the whole service blocked by the platforms it depends on.

TracklistID is offered as it is, without warranty of availability or accuracy. Records, artwork and previews come from third-party catalogues and remain the property of their rights holders.
